Cohere was founded in 2020 with a mission to develop institutional, multifamily, real estate in difficult to develop, mature markets. Cohere partners, Kyle and Kyle, have operated as affiliate principals for a large, multifamily developer, growing their Maryland portfolio and now operate exclusively under their Cohere brand.
Kyle James
Kyle drives the firm’s pipeline by sourcing, entitling, and executing ground-up multifamily projects across the Mid-Atlantic. Kyle also oversees equity capital relationships with institutional, family office, and high-net-worth investors across a variety of preferred equity, joint-venture, and co-GP structures.
With more than a decade of hands-on development experience, he previously led retail, mixed-use, and multifamily projects for a prominent Baltimore-based developer before building a prior platform’s Maryland presence. Kyle earned a Master’s in Real Estate and Infrastructure from Johns Hopkins University Carey Business School and a B.B.A. in Finance from Loyola University Maryland.
Kyle Wittman
Kyle brings over twelve years of multifamily investment and finance experience, having structured and closed debt and equity across virtually every product type and capital source — including HUD/FHA, agency, life company, CMBS, bank, LIHTC, opportunity zone, and private equity.
Kyle specializes in arranging and optimizing project-level financing while managing investor relations and capital formation for Cohere’s portfolio of ground-up and value-add multifamily assets. Kyle earned a M.B.A. in Finance and B.B.A. in Accounting from Loyola University Maryland.
